Johnathan Ahlvers Killed in a Crash on September 14, 2022 in Barber County, Kansas

Johnathan Lee Ahlvers of Halstead, Kansas was killed on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10:24 AM in Barber County, Kansas. Ahlvers is a 39-year-old man.

Vehicle 1 [the 2008 Ford F350 driven by Johnathan Ahlvers] was fleeing/attempting to elude law enforcement on U281 southbound near milepost 34. Vehicle 2 [the 2000 Ford F350 driven by Terrill Underwood] was northbound on U281. Evidence at the scene indicates Vehicle 1 [the 2008 Ford F350 driven by Johnathan Ahlvers] intentionally drove at Vehicle 2 [the 2000 Ford F350 driven by Terrill Underwood]. Vehicle 2 [the 2000 Ford F350 driven by Terrill Underwood] attempted to avoid Vehicle 1 [the 2008 Ford F350 driven by Johnathan Ahlvers] by driving off the highway towards the east ditch. Vehicle 1 [the 2008 Ford F350 driven by Johnathan Ahlvers] was able to strike Vehicle 2 [the 2000 Ford F350 driven by Terrill Underwood] in the area between the east shoulder and ditch.

Injuries

Ahlvers's injuries were fatal. Ahlvers was taken by ambulance to Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the 2008 Ford F350 with Kansas license plate number 599953 damage was unknown. This vehicle was insured. Triangle Insurance insured this vehicle. This vehicle was removed by Slykes.
