Janiya Castell Injured in a Crash on April 10, 2022 in Thomas County, Kansas

Janiya Valdez Castell of Colby, Kansas was injured on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 08:05 PM in Thomas County, Kansas. Castell is a 11-year-old girl.

The crash happened here: Country Club Drive one tenth of a mile mile north of Veterans Memorial Drive or approximately 1 mile north of US24 Highway.

Vehicle 1 [the 2010 Hyundai Elantra 4-door passenger car driven by Jarett Adelman] accelerated swiftly, causing Driver 1 [Jarett J Adelman] to lose control. Vehicle 1 [the 2010 Hyundai Elantra 4-door passenger car driven by Jarett Adelman] left the roadway to the right, struck a dirt embankment and went airborne to the Northwest. While airborne, Vehicle 1 [the 2010 Hyundai Elantra 4-door passenger car driven by Jarett Adelman] overturned counterclockwise and came to a rest on its passenger side in the middle of County Club Drive, facing Northeast.

Injuries

Castell's injuries were minor. Castell was taken by ambulance to Colby Medical Center.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the 2010 Hyundai Elantra 4-Door Passenger Car with Kansas license plate number 115KNJ damage was unknown. This vehicle was insured. Farm Bureau Property & Casualty Insurance insured this vehicle. This vehicle was removed by Butchs Body Shop. It was taken to Tow Lot.

This statute imposes on those subject to it "a civil penalty in an action brought by the attorney general or county or district attorney" of up to "$500 for each violation." Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
