Jacob Rivera Killed in a Crash on October 24, 2021 in Ellis County, Kansas

Jacob Ray Rivera of Selma, California was killed on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 03:00 AM in Ellis County, Kansas. Rivera is a 19-year-old man.

Vehicle 1 [the 2014 Hyundai Sonata] was traveling westbound on 8th St. at a high rate of speed. Vehicle 1 [the 2014 Hyundai Sonata] failed to obey the stop sign at U183 Alt., continued westbound over the embankment and went airborne. Vehicle 1 [the 2014 Hyundai Sonata] impacted the ground at the bottom of the embankment and flipped end-over-end coming to rest on its top.

Rivera's injuries were fatal. Rivera was taken by ambulance to Brocks Funeral Home.

The police said the 2014 Hyundai Sonata with Illinois license plate number CL81176 damage was unknown. This vehicle was removed by 5 Star Amoco. It was taken to Tow Lot.
