Lance Owens Killed in a Crash on March 21, 2021 in Wyandotte County, Kansas

Lance Elmon Owens JR of Kansas City, Kansas was killed on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 10:39 PM in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Owens is a 28-year-old man.

The crash happened here: I635 northbound at mile marker 2.0 (alternate Location: I635 northbound, south of Metropolitan.).

In the crash, Owens was a driver. The police described the crash like this:

Vehicle 1 [the 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Lance Owens] was traveling Northbound on I635 in lane number one. Vehicle 1 [the 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Lance Owens] drove off the right side of the roadway into the ditch and over turned. The driver was ejected out of the windshield. Driver 1 [Lance Elmon Owens] landed on the right shoulder and slide into lane three.

Injuries

Owens's injuries were fatal. Owens was taken by ambulance to Frontier Forensics.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the 2013 Kia Sorento with Kansas license plate number damage was unknown. This vehicle was removed by Alandon Tow. It was taken to Tow Lot. The police also said, "Vehicle by Vin/KX3A10DG416896."

The KSHP charges $5.00 for each copy of the report plus additional fees of $2.00 for each witness statement. But you can call 877-925-1969 to request a free copy of the report. In order to get the report through the KSHP website, you must create a Kansas.gov account and give them your credit card. You must agree to be subject to Kansas Statute 45-230: Unlawful Use of Names Derived from Public Records. This statute imposes on those subject to it "a civil penalty in an action brought by the attorney general or county or district attorney" of up to "$500 for each violation." Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
