Gabriel Rupp of Hays, Kansas was killed on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 10:38 AM in Jewell County, Kansas. Rupp is a 18-year-old man.

Vehicle 1 [the 2020 Volvo Tractor driven by Rodney Brown] was westbound on U.S. 36 at milepost 222. A Pedestrian was near the westbound roadway on the north shoulder of U.S. 36 at milepost 222, loading traffic control equipment into a trailer which was in the roadway. Driver 1 [Rodney Brown] failed to stop in time and struck the Pedestrian. The Pedestrian came to rest in the eastbound lane and sustained fatal injuries. Vehicle 1 [the 2020 Volvo Tractor driven by Rodney Brown] came to rest in the north ditch.
Injuries
Rupp's injuries were fatal. Rupp was taken by ambulance to Melby Mortuary.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the 2015 Gmc Sierra 2500 with Kansas license plate number AADU9 damage was unknown. This vehicle was insured. Progressive Commercial insured this vehicle. This vehicle was removed by No Tow. The police also said, "Trailer: KS/720NRJ 2016 Car Hauler. Non-Contact Vehicle."
