Aiden Patricio-Fernandez Killed in a Crash on March 24, 2021 in Cheyenne County, Kansas

Aiden Patricio-Fernandez of St Francis, Kansas was killed on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 05:15 AM in Cheyenne County, Kansas. Patricio-Fernandez is a 15-year-old boy.

Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] was traveling southbound in the 1500 block of County Road 14 approximately 0.8 miles north of Saint Francis. For an unknown reason, Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] began braking and entered into a skid. Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] left the roadway to the right and went airborne. While airborne, Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] struck a tree in the west ditch, causing it to turn. Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] subsequently struck a second tree with the drivers side door causing fatal injuries to the driver. The driver of Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] was later transported to the Cheyenne County Hospital in Saint Francis. The driver of Vehicle 1 [the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Aiden Patricio-Fernandez] was not properly restrained at the time of the crash.

Injuries

Patricio-Fernandez's injuries were fatal. Patricio-Fernandez was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne County Hospital.
