Matthew Gregory Eakes of Eskridge, Kansas was involved in a crash on Friday, April 3rd 2020 at 7:25 am in Shawnee County, Kansas. Eakes is a 33-year-old man.
In the crash, Eakes was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The crash happened here: Interstate 70 Eastbound at mile marker 346.1, or Interstate 70 Eastbound at the Carlson Rd Bridge. The police described the crash like this:
Vehicle one was traveling Eastbound on Interstate 70. Due to ice on the Carlson Road bridge driver one lost control, causing the vehicle to spin sideways. Vehicle one entered the South ditch and overturned multiple times. Vehicle #1 came to rest facing Northwest on the Eastbound entrance ramp of Carlson Road.
Injuries
The police said that Eakes had suspected minor injury. Eakes was taken to Stormont Vail.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with Kansas license plate number 99BKY was not stated. It was insured by State Farm. It was removed from the crash scene by Darrell's Service and taken to Tow Lot.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
The Kansas State Highway Patrol Trooper with badge number K399 wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned case number 2020-004248 to this crash. The KSHP charges $5.00 for each copy of the report plus additional fees of $2.00 for each witness statement. But you can call 877-925-1969 to request a free copy of the report. In order to get the report through the KSHP website, you must create a Kansas.gov account and give them your credit card. You must agree to be subject to Kansas Statute 45-230: Unlawful Use of Names Derived from Public Records. This statute imposes on those subject to it "a civil penalty in an action brought by the attorney general or county or district attorney" of up to "$500 for each violation."
