Ethan D Schlachter of Bennington, Kansas was involved in a crash on Tuesday, January 14th 2020 at 5:38 am in Saline County, Kansas. Schlachter is a 19-year-old man.
In the crash, Schlachter was driving a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. The crash happened here: U81 155.1 Southbound or 3 1/2 miles north of Crawford. The police described the crash like this:
Vehicle 1, Vehicle 2 and Vehicle 3 were all traveling south bound on U81 highway. Driver 1 attempted to exit to west bound I70 unintentionally, realizing that was the wrong exit he attempted to enter back onto U81 south bound. Vehicle 2 was in the driving lane of U81 south bound causing vehicle 2 to drive under the trailer and becoming lodged. Vehicle 3 struck the back of vehicle 1.

The police said that Schlachter had suspected serious injury. Schlachter was taken to Salina Regional Health Center.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
The Kansas State Highway Patrol Trooper with badge number K399 wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned case number 2020-000750 to this crash. The KSHP charges $5.00 for each copy of the report plus additional fees of $2.00 for each witness statement. But you can call 877-925-1969 to request a free copy of the report. In order to get the report through the KSHP website, you must create a Kansas.gov account and give them your credit card. You must agree to be subject to Kansas Statute 45-230: Unlawful Use of Names Derived from Public Records. This statute imposes on those subject to it "a civil penalty in an action brought by the attorney general or county or district attorney" of up to "$500 for each violation."
