In the crash, Rubio-Gomez was driving a 2013 Ford Focus. The crash happened here: US Highway 24 milepost 66.7 or 11 miles east of Colby on US Highway 24 The police described the crash like this:

Vehicle 1 was eastbound on US highway 24 when vehicle 1 crossed westbound traffic and left the roadway to the left entering into north ditch. Vehicle then proceeded to strike a field road and went airborne the rolled a unknown amount of times ejecting the driver then came to rest on the passengers side in a corn field.

Injuries

The police said that Rubio-Gomez had fatal injury. Rubio-Gomez was taken to Citizen Medical Center.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2013 Ford Focus with Kansas license plate number 141JKY was totaled. It was insured by Farmer's Insurance. It was removed from the crash scene by 24/7 Towing and taken to Tow lot.
